...RECLAIMED DISTILLERY DISTRICT WOOD AND BEER TAPS FASHIONED OUT OF OLD STEAM PIPES

...the former Galaxy Donuts space is full of all kinds of repurposed chic. Jason Stroud (Stroudfoot)...was responsible for outfitting the open room, from filling in the 100-year-old polished terrazzo flooring to procuring the warm copper pendant light shades and the custom-made lacquered concrete tables below. Perched high on a shelf near the centre of the room is the restaurant’s mascot, a walking figure with a top hat, created by B.C. sculptor Logan Sturrock; across the room is the bar, complete with a bar top made from reclaimed Distillery District wood and beer taps fashioned out of old steam pipes.

 ...the retro maestro Stroudfoot Design

Like so many Ossington makeovers, the bar/restaurant is a gutted storefront; in this case, a former Galaxy Donuts joint, which the retro maestro Stroudfoot Design has stripped down to the last load-bearing wall and scrubbed clean of any noise-reducing material. Orange filaments glimmer over the jujube cocktails that have taken the place of fragrant fried dough. The room itself is surprisingly spacious and the food is a joy. Go early, grab a relatively private table overlooking the street, and before the place fills up with the late night crowd, cruise chef Claudio’s carte.

...The setting is suitably Ossington-esque

The result is Yours Truly, a new restaurant that opened quietly on the still-hot Ossington strip...The setting is suitably Ossington-esque: sanded barn boards line the walls...original terrazzo flooring. Custom-built items from Stroudfoot Inc. (Origin) dot the place, like laquered concrete tables and copper-haloed light fixtures.
